8-Pallet Vehicle-to-Ground (V2G) lift fitted to increase loading speed and safety at level-access site
A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is the largest division of the convenience retail chain SPAR UK, with a turnover in excess of £1 billion. It owns 280 SPAR stores and services over 950 across England and Wales. The family-run business, which was founded in 1917, includes retail, wholesale distribution, food service, logistics and shop fitting divisions.
A.F. Blakemore specified a bespoke Transdek V2G yard lift for its level-access Tipton DC to speed up double deck loading, following previous work with Transdek at its other DC’s. We supplied a modular V2G loadhouse with a lift platform customised to carry 18 of SPAR’s 810x720mm rollcages. The unit was fitted at 90 degrees to the warehouse to enable vehicle access in the tight yard.
A.F. Blakemore has shaved 90 minutes off its double deck loading times, which has increased vehicle turnaround and productivity. The modular V2G loadhouse services all vehicle types to ground level at the site, loading a full double deck in 45 minutes. The lift pod was angled at 90 degrees to the warehouse to enable vehicles access at the space-constrained yard.
