Adapting Existing Docks to Suit the Requirements of Your Fleet
If you’re planning to introduce powered double deck trailers but have a standard dock setup, your existing dock shelters and levellers may not be suitable. The shelters are likely too low, and the levellers may not be long enough to ensure a safe working gradient in line with BS EN 1398.
At Transdek, we offer a fast and efficient dock conversion service to adapt your existing docks for these trailer types—without the need for disruptive civil works.
In just 2-3 days, we can transform a standard dock by installing a short modular dock pod, an extended dock leveller, and a high bay dock shelter, ensuring seamless access for powered double deck trailers.
Our conversions are also designed to accommodate other trailers in your fleet, providing a versatile and future-proof solution for your loading operations. If your yard has uneven gradients, we can install wheel ramps to ensure full compatibility with all your vehicles.
Our modular dock conversions offer flexibility—if your operational needs change, they can be easily removed, restoring your docks to their original setup. This makes them an ideal solution for leased buildings.
We offer a range of dock leveller pods that can be installed straight on to the front of your warehouse – for the rugged, safe and efficient loading of variable vehicle heights. Each loadhouse is supplied as a plug-and-play unit with options for fully-integrated doors, traffic lights and dock lights.
Fitted in less than half-a-day, our dock leveller loadhouses maximise space availability in your warehouses (compared to inset dock levellers). They are designed in full conformity with EN1398:2006 standards and manufactured to exceptional engineering standards.
Our dock levellers service a range of goods vehicles, typically up to ±300mm either side of dock height. Platform lengths are designed to suit requirements; standard specification allows for a 6000kg SWL. Where multiple loading bays require loadhouse installations, we can also offer you a multi-pod option that has the benefits of reducing costs and installation times.
ENQUIRE NOWAs a cost-effective alternative to full-length dock levellers, we can also offer you edge-of-dock levellers. Hydraulically-operated via a single-push button, the two-section lip ‘unfolds’ across to the deck of a waiting goods vehicle.
Our edge-of-dock levellers are supplied with dock bumpers fitted to either side, which stop vehicles at the correct distance from the dock. The equipment is fitted directly to the face of the loading bay and does not require a cut-out.
The lip is 700mm long when deployed and provides a 6000kg SWL bridge across to variable goods vehicle heights.
